Louisa Catt

Position: Assistant Curator of Historic Buildings, HM Tower of London

About

Louisa is a heritage professional with a decade of experience in historic buildings research. She has a particular interest in 18th-20th century architecture following her previous role as the Cataloguer of the Adam Office Drawings collection at Sir John Soane’s Museum.

Her passion for the historic built environment is reflected in her former role as a Researcher at Donald Insall Associates where she wrote and contributed to a variety of Historic Building Reports, Heritage Impact Assessments, and Conservation Management Plans.

She has an MA in Archaeology of Buildings from the University of York where she wrote her dissertation on the creation of a pilot methodology for the Assessment of Significance of War Memorial Village Halls. She hopes to use her experience and expertise to continue to shine a light on the Tower of London as a whole, with a focus on the history and buildings of the 19th and 20th centuries.
