Home Educator Day events

We host dedicated days for home educators at some of our popular palaces throughout the year. To support you to have the best experience on these days we reduce school visits so that there is more space available to explore. You will have access to the site all day with a range of programmed and self-led activities available to support your visit.

The next event will be held at Hampton Court Palace on Friday 17 July 2026.

Explore Hampton Court Palace - Friday 17 July 2026, 10.00 - 16.00

Join us for a special event at Hampton Court Palace, created exclusively for home educating families. Discover history where it happened and learn about the Six Wives of Henry VIII and who they really were beyond their relationship with Henry. Meet some of the Queens and their closest allies, take part in art workshops and discover the Palace they once called home.

What to expect

Families can handle costumes, meet experts, encounter historical characters, take part in a facilitated art workshop and follow self-led activity trails. Families may also enjoy the Magic Garden and Maze.

The activities are designed so you can mix and match to create a day of learning that works best for you.
