Explore the highs of court entertainment or the drama-filled execution of Charles I

Plan an inspiring visit for your students and explore one of the most magnificent surviving buildings of the Stuart monarchy. 

After an extended closure for essential conservation work, we’re delighted to welcome back school groups.

School visits will be available on a limited number of Open Days that fall within UK term time.

Available school visit dates:

Monday 7 September
Thursday 10 September
Friday 11 September
Monday 14 September
Thursday 17 September
Friday 18 September

Outside of these dates, the Banqueting House is closed for school visits.

What's included:

Your visit will be self-led and includes admission to the Banqueting House. During your visit, students are welcome to engage with any activities or interpretation available as part of the Open Day experience. 

We recommend allowing 45 minutes to 1 hour for your visit.

What's not included:

Taught education sessions
Lunch or cloakroom facilities

We can accommodate one class (max 35 students) in either a morning or afternoon slot. Please include your preferred arrival time when making your request.

Safety and security

As with many public venues Historic Royal Palaces uses a range security measures to help minimise the possibility of terrorist, or other criminal activity taking place, and these measures also include procedures to deal with incidents should they actually happen.
