For centuries, the Tower has served as a royal palace, formidable fortress and notorious prison. Kings, queens and prisoners have all passed through its ancient walls, and many never left.
This Halloween, the Tower's legendary past creeps back to life, with stories and spirits emerging from the shadows. Will you discover the abandoned medieval forge, the haunted wishing well, or the magical observatory? There's something spooky waiting around every corner, but only if you're brave enough to find out...
Meet the Tower's Ghosts
From a poet and a pirate to a queen, an astronomer and even a bear, who will you meet on your ghostly adventure? Look for clues in windows or listen out for a distant roar.
The haunted medieval forge will lure in ghosts from all directions at certain moments in the day, when the furnace burns most powerfully, and the clang of metal reaches its peak.
Find them there for a spirited gathering at 11.15, 12.45 and 14.45 each day.
Don’t miss your chance to encounter these wandering spirits who return but once a year!
A Halloween adventure for all
Designed to delight, rather than fright, this is the perfect Halloween adventure for little monsters and brave grown-ups alike.
Our ghostly residents are brought to life with theatrical costumes, ghoulish make-up and atmospheric sound effects in some areas of the Tower. If you feel a little nervous, don't worry – you can always enjoy the experience from a comfortable distance. Young ghost hunters should stay with their grown-ups throughout their visit.
If the weather takes a turn, some of our ghosts may retreat from the rain for a while. Don't worry, they're good spirits and will reappear as soon as they can.
Please remember to treat the ghosts with respect. Be kind to them and allow them to haunt in peace.
