Key Stage 3 Discovery Day

New for 2026/27

Tuesday 6 October 2026

Step into the extraordinary world of the Last Princesses of Punjab with our KS3 Discovery Day tailored for Year 7-9 students at Kensington Palace. This is a unique opportunity to discover more about the remarkable lives of Princesses Sophia, Bamba and Catherine Duleep Singh, whose lives were shaped by Empire.

Through storytelling and hands‑on activities, students will explore questions of belonging, power and activism, and consider how young people in the past challenged injustice in ways that still resonate today.

Lives shaped by empire

From William and Mary to Queen Victoria, Kensington Palace was home to monarchs whose power was tied to the growth of the British Empire. Discover the lives of a Sikh royal family whose kingdom was taken over by the British Empire moving them across continents, forcing them to adapt to new rules and expectations.

Closely connected to Queen Victoria find out more about how three princesses grew up to challenge injustice and inequality, using their unique positions to create change in the world around them.
