Join us for an unforgettable evening of history, storytelling and fine dining at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. Join bestselling author, historian and broadcaster Tracy Borman as she brings the dramatic rise and fall of one of Tudor England’s most powerful families to life in a captivating talk inspired by her latest novel, The House of Boleyn. This event marks the only Northern Ireland date on Tracy Borman’s book tour, offering a rare opportunity to experience her work in person.

This special event pairs an engaging talk with an indulgent three-course dinner. Begin with a canapé reception and a signature drink, before enjoying a seasonal menu as Tracy guides you through the Boleyns’ extraordinary journey – from their ascent at court to their devastating downfall. The evening concludes with a Q&A and book signing, offering a unique chance to meet the author in an intimate setting.

About the author

Tracy Borman is an author, Tudor historian, broadcaster and Chief Historian at Historic Royal Palaces. Tracy has written several historical biographies, including Crown & Sceptre: A New History of the British Monarchy and Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him. She is a regular broadcaster and lectures on her books across the country and internationally.

As Chief Historian at Historic Royal Palaces, Tracy works with our team of curators to share the stories of our palaces with millions of visitors and supporters every year. She regularly appears on Channel 5's Inside the Tower of London and has filmed other history documentaries. She also hosts series on the Historic Royal Palaces podcast and has written lots of content for our website.

Tracy is Chief Executive of the Heritage Education Trust, a charity that encourages children to visit and learn from historic properties. She is Chancellor and Professor of Tudor History at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln. Tracy was awarded an OBE in the King's Birthday Honours 2024 for services to heritage.

Important information

  • This meal is offered at a special member price and is not eligible for additional member discount.
  • This event will take place in the Weston Pavilion café and shop. Free parking is available in our car park off the southbound A1 dual carriageway. There will be no pedestrian access from the village for this event.

Reservation policy

All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation. You will be required to provide your credit card details at time of booking but will not be charged.

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the reservation time will not incur any charges.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the reservation time may be subject to a 20% charge per person based on the fixed menu price.
  • In the event of a no-show (failure to arrive without prior cancellation), a 20% charge per person will be applied to the credit/debit card used to secure the booking.
