Become a climate consultant and learn about the global & local effects of climate change through an exploration of Hillsborough Castle’s gardens. Uncover the challenges, think about solutions, and learn how Hillsborough Castle & Gardens is tackling the impacts of a changing climate.
Learning objectives
Pupils will:
Learn what climate change is.
Learn the causes of climate change and be able to identify greenhouse gases i.e. carbon dioxide & methane.
Learn what a carbon sink is and how they can help tackle climate change.
Learn about the negative impacts of climate change on the environment, people, plants, and animals.
Be able to identify local measures which can help tackle climate change at Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.
Work together to suggest solutions to help tackle evidence of climate change on a local scale.
