Plants are all around us, and give us so many things we use every day, but what does a plant need to grow? How do plants reproduce and disperse their seeds? Find out and explore the wonderful world of plentiful plants in this fun, hands-on, science session!
Learning objectives
Pupils will:
Learn that, like all living things, plants are adapted to their environment.
Learn that plants need certain resources to grow.
Learn that plants produce seeds to reproduce and that these are dispersed in a variety of ways, based on their environmental adaptations.
Understand that plants and animals in their environment live interdependently.
Learn that we derive a lot of our essential resources from plants and be able to give examples.

This session supports:
Pupils to explore the interdependent relationship between plants and animals in their habitat.
Pupils to learn about plants, and what they need to grow.
Pupils to learn how plants adapt to their environment, particularly in relation to how their seeds are dispersed.
Pupils to understand some of the ways people affect the environment globally, in this instance, in the Amazon rainforest.
Pupils to understand the consequences of human change on the rainforest.
