Join us in Hillsborough Castle’s gardens to relax, enjoy nature, and learn how to be in the present moment. Learn and practice some simple mindfulness techniques to help improve and support your pupils’ wellbeing, anytime and anywhere!
This session takes place outdoors, whatever the weather, please encourage pupils to dress appropriately and bring waterproofs/suncream/comfortable clothing.
Please note: These sessions involve some mindful eating. Please let us know of any allergies or intolerances in your class in advance of your visit.
Learning objectives:
Pupils will:
Be able to explore and express some of their common emotions and feelings.
Learn what mindfulness is and why it is beneficial to practise.
Try some simple breathing exercises to encourage mindfulness.
Learn that being in the present moment can help them to manage their thoughts and feelings.
Become aware that engaging with nature can help them manage their emotions.
