This session is designed to complement the Winter Palace: Christmas Beast Ball installation.
Step into a winter wonderland and meet the Christmas Beasts - the Panther, Dragon, and Unicorn Calf. Through sensory storytelling and creative activities, pupils explore the meanings behind Tudor heraldic animals and use their imagination to design their own colourful mythical creatures.
What to expect?
This 45-minute session takes place in a classroom and pupils will mostly be seated
Teachers will be asked at the start of the session about pupils' learning needs and access requirements
The session will be led by a facilitator in costume who will interact with pupils in a lively and responsive way
Your pupils will be encouraged to take an active part in the session through role-play, games and craft activities
Teachers will be required to actively support the facilitator and engage with the session

Children will:
Talk about real and imagined beasts
Learn that animals feature in the decorative details of Hampton Court Palace
Learn that in Tudor times different animals had different meanings
Take part in a craft activity
