This session is designed to complement the Winter Palace: Christmas Beast Ball installation.
This flexible session offers SEND learners a supportive and creative way to explore Tudor heraldic animals. Using a multisensory approach, students will meet Hampton Court Palace’s Christmas Beasts - the Panther, Dragon and Unicorn Calf. Through guided storytelling and accessible activities, learners are encouraged to express themselves by decorating their own Christmas beasts.
What to expect?
This session will take place indoors in a wheelchair-accessible classroom
The session will be led by a facilitator trained in working with SEND audiences
The facilitator will be in costume unless requested otherwise by the school
The session is flexible according to the needs of your students but can involve sensory exploration, interactive storytelling and a creative activity
A member of the schools team will contact teachers in the weeks before your visit to check access and learning requirements
Teachers will be required to actively support learners and engage with the session
