Discover Henry VIII's notoriously haunted palace this Halloween, the spookiest time of the year at Hampton Court Palace.
This October half term, lose yourself in atmospheric projections and creepy sound effects as the palace and gardens are transformed by magical spells. See if you can brave our eerie new outdoor trail and keep your eyes peeled for restless spirits who might be roaming the grounds.
As you tiptoe through the winding corridors and around the palace gardens, you'll feel the chilling presence of our infamous ghosts hiding around every corner. Maybe you'll spot the ghost of Oliver Cromwell or even Henry VIII.
After all that exploring, listen to a spine-tingling story at our storytelling sessions before relaxing away from the ghouls with a Halloween-themed treat from the café.
Don't miss a spooky day out you'll remember forever.
A family Halloween adventure
Designed to put you on edge, rather than push you over it, prepare yourself for an exciting family adventure that you won’t forget.
Please note that the ghosts will be in full ghoulish make-up and costume, which some visitors may find scary. Ghost detectors will also be in costume. Children must accompany their adults at all times, in case their adults get spooked!
Our palace has been haunted for hundreds of years, and will be for hundreds more. Please remember to treat the ghosts with respect. Be kind to them and allow them space to haunt in peace.
Ghosts will be roaming inside the palace and outside in the wilderness from 10:00 - 16:00.
Hear a haunting story
Looking to hear a chilling tale? Join our storytelling each day during half term for a tale based around a mysterious happening at Hampton Court Palace.
Everyone is welcome. Children must accompany their adults at all times, in case the adults get spooked!
Storytelling will be daily in the Guard Chamber in William III's apartments at 11:30, 12:30, 14:00 and 15:00.
My daughter was just blown away last Halloween… We spent hours there and it was a bit of magic visiting.
