Corpus Christi Primary School, Glasgow
Students from Corpus Christi Primary School designed a cherry blossom tree in bloom to symbolise growth and new beginnings as the United Kingdom celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III. The cherry tree also represents the King’s love of nature. The King’s cypher decorates the back of the bench as a symbol of the Coronation and paths wind their way up the sides to represent King Charles’ journey to becoming the British monarch.
This bench was brought to life in collaboration with artist Rio – an illustrator, sculptor and painter.
the winning design
We thought the use of cherry blossom to represent growth and new beginnings was a thoughtful and creative idea, full of the joys of spring!
