You can reserve and pay for up to six tickets via the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace or Kensington Palace pages (online bookings only). Children under 5 do not need a ticket.

Tickets must be booked in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. Visitor numbers are limited and many dates and timeslots are sold out in advance.

If you can't find £1 tickets for the date you wish to book, this date is sold out but further dates are available. 

Yes, anyone eligible can book up to six tickets per household per visit.

If you would like to visit more than one palace, you will need to book separate £1 tickets for each visit, and bring your supporting documents with you.

No, each ticket is only valid for a single day.

Yes, carer tickets are still free if you have booked £1 tickets.

£1 tickets are non-refundable and we are unable to make any changes to your booking.

Visits to Kew Palace, The Royal Kitchens and Queen Charlotte’s Cottage are included in Kew Gardens admission. Please note, these buildings will reopen on 29 March 2024 for the summer season. Kew Gardens operates a separate scheme for those on named benefits. Find out more and book at the Kew website.

Access to The Great Pagoda requires a separate ticket, which will be available as part of our £1 tickets offer when the Pagoda reopens on 29 March 2024.

1. One form of supporting document to show eligibility for this offer:

• Universal Credit - show your Universal Credit statement, either on your mobile app or a paper copy
• Pension Credit - DWP letter of confirmation
• Working Tax Credit - HMRC letter confirming Working Tax Credit
• Child Tax Credit - HMRC letter confirming Child Tax Credit
• Employment and Support Allowance - DWP letter of confirmation
• Income Support - DWP letter of confirmation
• Jobseekers Allowance - DWP letter of confirmation

2. Additional identification to confirm the name on the supporting documents. This does not need to be a photo ID: bank card, bank statement, utility bill or work ID is fine.

3. Your reservation document - this is a PDF that you will receive when you book your tickets online. 

If you don't have proof of receiving benefits, you can request a letter via Gov.uk.

As an independent charity that is committed to making our palaces welcoming and accessible for everyone, we charge for tickets to fund programmes and schemes, like our £1 tickets, for those who have barriers to visiting our palaces.

People must receive Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance to be eligible for these tickets.

We know this excludes many people who do not receive these benefits, but still are unable to afford the cost of visiting our palaces. As a charity, Historic Royal Palaces is committed to making our palaces as open and accessible as possible. Through our schools and communities programmes we offer days out and projects that create opportunities for people to meaningfully engage with our spaces and stories, inspiring everyone to feel a sense of belonging at our six wonderful palaces.
