The walled garden

Self-led school trail

About this trail

KS 1 – 2 | Subject: The World Around Us, Language and Literacy, The Arts, PDMU | Topic: Nature, Gardens, Maps, the Senses | Session Type: Self led resource

This Walled Garden Map resource encourages children to explore their surroundings in new and unexpected ways. They are encouraged to explore the Walled Garden and consider what key features should be included on their map. Will they map things they see, hear, smell or touch? Perhaps they will map their emotions and how different spaces in the garden make them feel.

This activity will help pupils learn about a productive kitchen garden, as well as maps, mapping, keys and symbols.
