Early careers and apprenticeships

Interesting and challenging roles in a unique working environment

Develop your skills with us

The Historic Royal Palaces Apprenticeship Programme offers non-traditional career entry routes into the heritage sector.

Our ambition is to create an industry leading programme to encourage a diverse range of fresh talent into our charity and help us achieve our new strategy to be a charity for everyone.

In return, apprentices gain an authentic workplace experience in their specialist field, working in iconic buildings, fully supported by professional teams.

Since launching in 2024, we employ apprentices across all of our sites in England and Northern Ireland. Now we are looking for our 3rd cohort of HRP apprentices.

“My role involves supporting the fundraising team. I’ve learned a lot about donor engagement and event planning. The work is varied and I’ve enjoyed being part of projects that make a real difference.”

Jeremiah Twumasi-Mensah, Project Support Apprentice

The programme experience

  • Opportunities to travel and explore new places

Financial support:

  • UK living wage above minimum apprenticeship rate
  • TFL Apprentice Oyster Card, student discounts, access to hardship fund
