Dr Karey Draper

Karey Draper, Curator of Historic Buildings, Hampton Court Palace.

Position: Curator of Historic Buildings, Hampton Court Palace

About

Karey is a curator, architectural historian, and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. She has worked in some of Britain’s greatest buildings, undertaking historic research, survey and analysis, conservation management plans, impact assessments, and considering how historic sites might become more accessible, and better adapt to climate change.

Her research interests include the architectural history of Hampton Court Palace during its two most complex phases of building: from the reign of Henry VIII to William and Mary, as well as the Grace and Favour period. She is also involved with protecting its future: working alongside our surveyors and maintenance teams managing repairs and conservation projects around the Palace, as well as undertaking a Conservation Management Plan for the palace buildings.
