Leave a legacy

A personal and enduring way to help keep our stories alive for future generations

Where your legacy helps

Large or small every legacy is important to Historic Royal Palaces and makes a real difference to our work. All our administrative costs are covered by our daily visitor income so gifts left to us through wills go directly towards our charitable work.

Some of the ways that people have chosen to help

  • Continuing the growth of our award-winning education and community outreach work at Kew Palace
  • Restoring the gardens at Kensington Palace based on their original 18th-Century design and re-connecting them with the surrounding park
  • The continued conservation of the extraordinary Tudor Chimneys at Hampton Court Palace

How to leave a gift

We recommend consulting a solicitor to help you write your will. They will be able to advise you on matters you will need to consider and the different ways you can make a gift.

Your solicitor will ask you for the name, address and registered charity number of the charity or charities you wish to support. Historic Royal Palaces' details are:

Historic Royal Palaces
Hampton Court Palace
East Molesey
Surrey
KT8 9AU

Registered Charity Number 1068852

A personal gift

Leaving a legacy is a very personal gift and you may not wish to tell us about it. However, we always love to thank our donors for their support. Legators of Historic Royal Palaces are invited to special events to see the work that is supported by them. They also receive regular correspondence from Historic Royal Palaces keeping them up-to-date with the work that is happening across the palaces.

If you are interested in leaving a donation in your will to Historic Royal Palaces and would like it to benefit a specific area of our work, please contact the Development team to make sure that your desires can be met.
