Foreland Fields School

Foreland Fields School, Ramsgate, Kent

As a class of children with Special Educational Needs, the students at Forelands Fields wanted their design to reflect a core school value: inclusion. They wanted to show that people of all abilities and backgrounds should be included in the Coronation celebrations and that they are important for the future. The design also highlights the need for plants and animals for a healthier planet. The main characters on the bench are surrounded by flowers and a friendly cat, and above them is a royal crown. On the back, hands reach across the world to reflect the hands on the school’s logo.

This bench was brought to life in collaboration with artist Loïs Cordelia – a community artist, speed-painter, tutor and demonstrator.
