Beano Mischief at the Tower of London

‘Blam’! Historic Royal Palaces and Beano launch time-twisting trails across three iconic sites

Historic Royal Palaces, the charity that cares for some of the UK’s most iconic landmarks, is joining forces with Beano to create a trio of unmissable time-twisting trails at the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Hillsborough Castle and Gardens next year.

The adventure begins in February half-term with Beano Mischief at the Tower of London (14-22 February 2026) and will continue with Beano Hijinks at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens (27 June-31 August) and Beano Havoc at Hampton Court Palace (25 July-23 August 2026).

Beano Mischief at the Tower of London

14-22 February 2026

Families and life-long fans are invited to join Beano Mischief at the Tower of London, a brand-new outdoor trail where time travel meets 1,000 years of history at the ancient fortress.

When Dennis, Minnie, Harsha, Rubi and Gnasher are late for a school trip to the Tower, their go-kart-turned-time-machine goes wildly wrong, sending them spiralling through time and space before crash-landing inside the Tower. With vital pieces of their go-kart scattered across history, it’s up to visitors to help track them down, repair the tangled timeline and transport Dennis and pals back home to Beanotown.

Armed with a bespoke comic strip story, Beano fans can follow clues to uncover the missing pieces of the broken time machine. Along the way, there’s plenty of pandemonium and surprising encounters with real-life figures from the Tower’s past, brought to life through costumed performances – from Guy Fawkes to Queen Elizabeth I, William the Conqueror to Leonora Cohen.

These live performances will run throughout the day at locations across the Tower, providing photo opportunities for Beano enthusiasts. The trail is an outdoor, step-free experience designed for ease, offering visitors of all ages action-packed adventure and comic chaos.

Further information about Beano Hijinks at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens and Beano Havoc at Hampton Court Palace to follow.
