£1 Entry to Hampton Court Palace

Tickets for up to six people per household for £1 each

We want everyone to be able to enjoy a day out at Hampton Court Palace, and we know how hard things are for many people on low incomes right now.

That's why £1 tickets for a day visit to Hampton Court Palace are available to anyone in receipt of the following:

  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance

You can claim £1 tickets for up to six people per household. Only one person per household needs to show supporting documents.

We hope this will allow even more people to experience this wonderful place, exploring over 500 years of stories.

How to book £1 tickets

You can reserve and pay for up to six tickets (online bookings only). Children under 5 do not need a ticket.

Then collect your printed tickets from the Ticket Office  on the day of your visit. You must bring the following:

  1. Your reservation - this is the PDF that you will receive when you completed your online booking.
  2. Proof of your eligibility - please check the list below.
  3. Proof of ID - to check that the person who booked the tickets is present (e.g. a utility bill, bank card, bank statement, or work ID)

Tickets must be booked in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. Visitor numbers are limited and many dates and timeslots are sold out in advance.

If you can't find £1 tickets for the date you wish to book, this date is sold out but further dates are available.

Unfortunately it is not possible to purchase both £1 tickets and standard price admission tickets in the same booking.

If you want to book a mix of £1 and standard tickets, please book the £1 tickets first (as these sell out quickly) and then separately purchase the standard admission tickets for the same date and/or timeslot.

What you may wish to bring with you

Comfortable shoes/Walking Aids

Hampton Court is a large site with uneven cobbles and gravel. Come prepared to do a lot of walking on challenging surfaces. Bring any walking aids to help you get around and wear sensible shoes.

We have wheelchairs available to use onsite. For more information about what is available onsite, check out our access information.

Dress for the weather

Picnic Lunch and Snacks

We have cafes and refreshment kiosks, but you are welcome to bring your own food, drink and picnic blankets. Outdoor picnics are welcome throughout our gardens.

On weekends, bank holidays and school holidays, you are welcome to use our school lunchrooms to picnic indoors. Our staff will be happy to show you where these are on arrival.

Refillable Water Bottle

There are water refill points in the Magic Garden and Tiltyard Café.

Extra Clothes for Little Ones

The Magic Garden is a fantastic space for children to burn off some energy and explore. There are water and sand areas, so if your little ones love to get messy, bring a change of clothes and/or shoes.

Capture the day through photos and sketches! We welcome people to take photos (no flash or film) in the historic spaces. You can sketch throughout the palace and gardens – pencil only. We hope you are inspired to make a memory or artwork from the day.
