'Henry VIII on Tour’
Schools Tudor Festival
The year is 1522. Find out what it was like to prepare for Henry VIII’s Royal progress! Join us for the first schools only Tudor festival, in the gardens at Hampton Court Palace, as we bring to life the sights, sounds, smells and excitement of King Henry VIII and his court on tour.
Online school sessions
Led by experienced presenters on Zoom, take a journey through time to meet historical figures and uncover history from your classroom. Our sessions support the study of History, English and Citizenship.

Safety and security
As with many public venues Historic Royal Palaces uses a range security measures to help minimise the possibility of terrorist, or other criminal activity taking place, and these measures also include procedures to deal with incidents should they actually happen.

Photography and Filming
Visitors are welcome to take non-commercial photographs and films within most areas of Hampton Court Palace. Photographic equipment - such as tripods and selfie sticks - should not be used inside the palace. For religious and copyright reasons, photography is not permitted in the following areas:
- Chapel Royal
- Cumberland Art Gallery
- Any temporary exhibitions
Historic Royal Palaces is a safeguarding aware organisation and takes its responsibility to protect children and vulnerable people seriously. We may sometimes ask therefore that visitors refrain from filming or photographing other visitors. If you have any concerns about a member of the public taking photos of your school or education group, please speak to a member of staff.

The learning service offers exciting sessions for all ages in the Tudor and Baroque Palace and fulfils the National Curriculum, it is' history where it happened'. Experienced, costumed presenters entertainingly interpret stories of the characters, skilful dialogue entrances the children. The Great Vine, the Maze and Magic Garden add to a varied visit, excellent maps and guides help navigate the site supported by on line resources. A treasure not to be missed.
