Dr Hana Lewis

Position: Curator of the Archaeological Archives

Dr Hana Lewis has substantial experience in the cultural heritage sector in England and Australia. In previous roles as a Project Officer (Post-excavation) and a Senior Archaeologist, Hana has delivered diverse archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects within the commercial archaeology sector in England. She has also participated in archaeological projects in Italy, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia and Cambodia. Hana has worked in cultural heritage management for the Australian NSW government, providing regulatory advice and managing the protection of state heritage. She has further supported digital humanities research, as Project Officer for the BL Labs project at the British Library.

Hana graduated from the University of Sydney with a BA (Honours) degree in Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology and Medieval Studies. She holds an MA in Archaeology of London and a PhD from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. Her doctoral thesis investigated the material culture of early medieval settlement sites in England.
