Annual Research Report
Historic Royal Palaces undertakes a wide variety of research across a number of different disciplines. Highlights from 2023-2024 include:
- The Untold Lives exhibition: Curated by Sebastian Edwards and Dr Mishka Sinha, which examined the often overlooked lives of palace servants, and resulted in many significant research and public engagement outputs.
- The AHRC RICHeS REVEAL: Project led by Dr Constantina Vlachou Mogire, which will help to deliver a step change in HRP's physical and digital storage facilities.
- Henry VIII on Tour: The second year of this AHRC-funded project, led by Professor Anthony Musson, which, thanks to additional funding, has carried out further community and public engagement work.
- The re-opening of the Wolsey Rooms: Curated by Brett Dolman, which generated new research on the global context and material culture of the Tudor court.
- Research visit to Japan: Undertaken by Matthew Storey and Kaori Motaung as part of their research into the Japanese coatee (taireifuku) in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, funded by the Diawa Foundation and HRP Patron, John Harding.
