Superbloom

About your visit

Superbloom was a new natural landscape created in 2022, surrounding the Tower of London. Visitors could walk through the moat to see this thriving new habitat for wildlife close up.

Over 20 million flower seeds were sown in the moat in early 2022. Designed to bloom and evolve over the course of the summer in harmony with nature, Superbloom became a new haven for pollinators in London. Visitors were able to explore this remarkable space which celebrates the value of nature for wellbeing.

During August seed heads became visible. They were left in place to help reseed the moat, ready for 2023.

Superbloom entered its next phase of a natural cycle, where nature started to wind down, getting ready to bloom again next year. Flowers at the end of their lifecycle are essential for wildlife. Once this display ended, the natural landscape in the Tower of London moat remains as a permanent legacy.

The Queen’s Garden

The Queen's Garden, was a special tribute to Her Majesty The Queen in the Platinum Jubilee year. Designed to be viewed from above, this picture garden was inspired by her 1953 coronation gown. In the centre, sat a glass crown, a reminder of the Tower of London’s ancient as home of the Crown Jewels
