Explore the majestic Crown Jewels and iconic 1,000-year-old White Tower. Discover a memorial sculpture at the same site where many executions took place and hear about our magnificent resident Ravens.

Welcome to the Tower
Find out more about the different audio tours available and learn how to use your guide. This tour is intended to provide an introduction and takes three minutes to complete.
Traitors Gate
Find out why people call this river entrance ‘Traitors’ Gate,’ with an overview tour of this historical feature, which lasts approximately four minutes.
Imprisonment and execution
Dive into the Tower’s dark past and unmask the tragic tales of imprisonment and execution. Hear real-life stories of famous prisoners, including Guy Fawkes, Anne Boleyn and the two young princes.
This tour is available in main and step-free versions and the recommended time for completion is 25 minutes.
The Medieval Palace
Step inside the luxurious rooms of two medieval kings and discover the lost Medieval Palace. Please leave around 25 minutes to complete
The Crown Jewels
The Tower has been home to this fascinating collection of royal regalia for over 350 years, which remain under armed guard. Explore this priceless collection of treasures still in use today and discover their remarkable history. This tour lasts around 10 minutes.
The Tower's beginnings
Uncover the earliest history of the Tower. Explore its Norman origins, Roman ruins, and the legend of the ravens. This tour lasts 15 minutes and is available in main and step-free versions.
Life at the Tower
Hear first-hand from our Yeoman Warders on what Tower life is really like and discover the ancient ceremonies still performed today, such as the 700-year-old Ceremony of the Keys. This tour takes 9 minutes.
Discover the Alternative Tower tour
Uncover stories, poetry and interviews created by young people invited to explore the Tower’s stories. This takes around 40 minutes.
Moving tales of the prisoners of the Tower are brought to life via spoken word, while young people from Spotlight Youth Centre in Tower Hamlets share stories from behind the scenes at the Tower.

Time Explorers at the Tower of London
Families can explore the Tower of London by completing challenges and quizzes using the Time Explorers game. Meet characters from history, learn about life at the Tower, test your knowledge and win badges!
If you choose to accept your mission you can help Lady Margery prepare the Medieval Palace for King Edward’s return; or help Arbella Stuart set her husband William free from his prison in the Tower; or go undercover and make a plan of attack against the Norman invaders.
Time Explorers is available to play on selected audio guides and subject to availability. Please ask a member of staff when collecting your guides from the Beefeater Shop.
