Tower of London tickets

Step into centuries of history and intrigue. Book a ticket in advance online or purchase tickets on the day at the ticket office. You can arrive within 30 minutes of your ticket time (e.g. between 10:00-10:29). 

Please arrive within your selected ticket time, as entry cannot be guaranteed for early or late arrivals.

£1 tickets for the Tower of London

£1 tickets for a day visit to the Tower of London are available to anyone in receipt of the following:

  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance

You can claim £1 tickets for up to six people per household. Only one person per household needs to show supporting documents.

Tickets must be booked online in advance to guarantee entry and avoid disappointment. Visitor numbers are limited and many dates and timeslots are sold out in advance.

If you can't find £1 tickets for the date you wish to book, this date is sold out but further dates are available.

Tower Hamlets residents visit for just £1

Local residents within the borough of Tower Hamlets can visit the for only £1.00.

The offer is valid all year round. Only one ticket per adult can be purchased per day. Adults can purchase additional tickets for up to 3 children for £1.00. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets can only be purchased on the day from our ticket office for the next available timeslot. During peak times such as school holidays and events, there may be limited capacity. If a timeslot is full, you will be put on the next available timeslot.

Adults need to bring proof of address (utility bill, council tax bill, driver’s licence etc) with them to the ticket office. Please note this offer cannot be used for event tickets such as Ceremony of the Keys.

How to get tickets you've bought online

Receive tickets by email or print at home

  1. Download your PDF ticket to your mobile for scanning at the entrance or
  2. Click the link in the email that we’ll send you and print out all your tickets

If you are not able to download your e-tickets using the link in your confirmation email, please show your reference number to the ticket desk when you arrive and staff on site will be able to print your tickets for you.

Complimentary adult carer tickets can be obtained on the day of your visit upon presentation of proof of supporting documents (such as a Blue Badge, Freedom Pass, DLA letter or PIP letter).

Adult carer/companion tickets are also available to book online.

Only one carer ticket can be added per booking but each disabled visitor can bring one person with them free of charge as a carer/companion. If your party requires more than one carer ticket, please book your paid tickets online and email info@hrp.org.uk with your booking reference number and all proof of need. We will be happy to reserve the additional carer tickets for your party at no extra cost.

You can arrive within 30 minutes of your ticket time (e.g., between 10:00-10:29). We are unable to guarantee entry before or after your time slot. 

Your ticket is valid for one entry only. No re-entry is permitted. At least two hours is recommended for your visit but you can enjoy the Tower for the whole day until closing. See opening and closing times.

Whilst we strive to make the Tower of London accessible to all visitors, it is a historic site and building with difficult stairs, passageways and spiral staircases. Wheelchair access is limited. There are many steps throughout the Tower with cobbles laid in some of the surfaces and pathways. There are some low doorways.
