Can I change the date or time of my booking?

We can make changes to unused admission tickets bought directly via our website (exc. events such as the Ceremony of the Keys or special events etc.) for an amendment fee.

You don’t need to make this change before your visit and can visit between now and 28 February 2025 on any date we’re open, subject to availability. Check availability of tickets across the sites here, pick your date and time, call our team on 0333 320 6000 to make change. Our phone lines are open Monday – Friday, 09:00-14:00.

Ticket changes are subject to Terms of use and availability, and must be made at least 3 working days before your new visit date. In the meantime, DO NOT make a new booking as it will not be refundable.

My e-tickets are missing

We recommend searching your email inbox for hrp.org.uk. If you can't find your e-tickets, you can show your confirmation email/booking reference at the Ticket Office.

I can't download my e-tickets

Please show your confirmation email / booking reference at the Ticket Office.

I don't have a booking confirmation email

You can search your email for hrp.org.uk or you can quote your booking number or email address at the Ticket Office.

Your ticket to the Tower of London includes:

  • Yeoman Warders positioned at key points where they tell captivating stories of the history of the Tower of London
  • The Crown Jewels
  • The White Tower
  • Battlements, Medieval Palace, Bloody Tower, Torture at the Tower exhibition, Fusiliers Museum and Royal Mint exhibition (all other buildings remain closed)

Do I have to arrive at the beginning of my timeslot?

You can arrive any time within your selected 30 minute timeslot. For example, if you have a 10.30 timeslot, you can enter the palace anytime between 10.30-11.00.

My ticket has no time slot / says 6am

If you were not prompted to choose a time whilst booking your ticket, it is an off-peak ticket and you can enter any time from opening to last admission. Tickets marked 6am are also off-peak but are showing this time due to how tickets are configured in our ticketing system.

You can arrive at any time within your chosen timeslot, but if you cannot make this allotted time, the admissions team will try their best to accommodate you in the next available timeslot.

Please be aware that timeslots on the day may be fully booked and this cannot always be guaranteed.

Tickets purchased directly through our website can be shown on your mobile device or printed out.

Your admission ticket is valid for one entry only, and no re-entry is permitted.

Tickets for the Ceremony of the Keys must to booked in advance online. Tickets for future dates will be released periodically on our website, usually on the first working day of the month. On these dates, the next months’ worth of tickets will be released, so for example on 01 March, tickets for the whole month of April will be released.

The Tower of London is a fortress, and has limited entry points. There is no fast track entry option and an element of queuing is to be expected on most days.  All visitors are required to undergo a bag check before gaining admission.  There may also be additional queuing for popular exhibitions once inside the Tower on busy days.

Those with a registered disability are entitled to a concession ticket to the Tower of London, as access is difficult in many areas.

You can find more information on booking free carers tickets, and what to expect during your visit, on our Tower of London Accessibility page.

As a member, you can book a timeslot for your visit  using the Member portal. This is to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff.

If you are unable to login with your membership number and surname, try a space after your surname. It is not case-specific. If this doesn’t help, please email our team at members@hrp.org.uk.

We release admission tickets a few months in advance and you can keep up to date by signing up to our mailing list. Just enter your email address at the bottom of the page.

London Pass holders need to bring their Pass with them to show our Admissions team on arrival on the day of your visit.

We recommend visitors continue to maintain a respectful distance from staff and other visitors not in their group. Please continue to show courtesy and consideration for other people visiting the Palaces.

At the palace

You are permitted to spend as much time as you like within the Tower of London during opening hours on the date of your booking. You could spend the entire day at the Tower if you wanted a detailed visit, but we recommend allowing at least three hours, dependent on queues.

Due to the historic nature of the building, there is no on-site car parking facility at the Tower of London.

Blue Badge allocated parking spaces can be found nearby in the Tower Hill Coach and Car Park.

Toilets are available at the following locations:

  • Brick Tower, behind the Jewel House (male, female, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities)
  • Salt Tower (male toilets)

  • Cradle Tower (female and accessible toilets)

All toilets have disabled access and baby changing facilities.

  • Changing Places toilet:  Ground floor lobby of New Armouries building next to the café. Access to the toilet is via radar key. (A key can be obtained from café staff, to be retuned after use.)

Visitors must keep their belongings with them at all times. There is no luggage storage at the Tower of London. All bags should be no bigger than airplane cabin baggage sized.

If you lose something during your visit, please contact the nearest member of staff.  All lost property is held by Business Reception.  Alternatively, contact info@hrp.org.uk  and we’ll do our best to try to reunite you with your property.

Dogs are not permitted inside the Tower unless they are trained assistance dogs or medical alert dogs. We are happy to provide water on request.

Unfortunately, due to conservation concern and the nature of items on display, we do not allow emotional support animals to enter the palace at this time.

No other dogs are permitted within the Tower of London.

There is no specific dress code for visitors to the Tower of London. We do ask that you dress respectfully as families are likely to be present.  If there are offensive slogans or other clothing items deemed to be inappropriate, you may be approached by a member of staff and asked to address this. Where this is not possible, you may be asked to use your tickets on an alternative day.

We ask that visitors do not dress in costume unless otherwise allowed as part of an event arranged by Historic Royal Palaces.

Smoking is not permitted inside the buildings of the Tower of London.

From 01 October 2023, smoking and vaping are not permitted in any area of the Tower of London, including buildings and outdoor areas.
