About this session
SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) | Subject: History | Topic: Stuarts | Session type: Classroom-based
This interactive session explores the dramatic, real-life story of the attempted theft of the crown jewels by Colonel Blood in 1671.
Using multi-sensory props and replica objects, students will be immersed in the events leading up to the moment Colonel Blood was caught. Can they guess what happened to him after the plot was foiled?
The session is delivered by a presenter trained in supporting students with special educational needs. It takes place inside our learning centre and includes the following:
- Singing and rhymes
- Object handling
- Dancing and games
- Drama and role-play
Learning objectives
Students will:
- Re-enact one of the Tower's most dramatic stories.
- Be empowered to use their senses to explore a new historic environment.
- Develop social and emotional skills.
