Plan and book your school visit
Looking to book? First, decide if you want your school visit to include a booked session. If you do, then please visit our session pages which provide further information on individual sessions. Come back here and complete the booking request form below once you know the name of the session you would like to book and your preferred times.
If you don’t wish to book a session, then please go straight to our booking request form below and select a “Self-led” visit.

Availability
Bookings are currently open for school visits in the 2025/26 academic year.
We advise booking early to avoid disappointment as we will sell out of most dates.
The Tower of London is our most popular site and we welcome over 100,000 school and home education visitors annually. We are excited to announce that we are developing new facilities, including a reception and lunch spaces, to increase capacity and offer new learning experiences, such as in the Tower moat. Enabling work has begun, and we expect to open the new facilities in 2027/28
Our best availability is on Mondays and Fridays.
School visits
Available Monday-Friday during UK term time.
What's included:
- Tower of London admission, including all visitor routes open on the date.
- Jewel House and Crown Jewels.
- Teacher planning passes included in your booking confirmation.
- Lunchrooms (subject to availability) for key stage 1 and 2 groups.
- Self-led activity trails for key stages 1-4 and international schools.
What's not included:
- Sessions (can be booked at an additional cost).
- Yeoman Warder tours.
- Use of a Digital Video Guide.

Our curriculum-based sessions are led by expert presenters who bring the history of the Tower to life through lively, interactive learning opportunities.
We offer a selection of sessions for UK schools linked to a range of subjects for all key stages, including SEND.

Age 5-15 (KS 1-4): £4.20
Age 16+ (KS 5+): £4.20
Tower Hamlets schools can book a self-led visit for £1 per person.
International students - including activity trail
Under 5s: Free
Age 5-15: £7.00
Age 16+: £7.00
Teachers and adults
Up to agreed ratios: Free
Adults for 1:1 assistance: Free
Additional adults: £32.10 (2024/25) or £33.00 (2025/26)
Subsidised rates are available Monday to Friday during UK term time only, not school or bank holidays. Our term dates reflect those of the local authority, Tower Hamlets London Borough Council.

Early Year Foundation Stage = 1:4 (free adult spaces up to 1:2)
Key stage 1 (age 4-7) = 1:5
Key stages 2, 3 and 4 (age 7-15) = 1:10
Key stage 5 and up (age 16+) = 1:15
SEND groups can determine their own ratios
Groups with an inadequate number of accompanying adults may not be admitted.
Small groups - For key stages 2-4, each booking must have a minimum of 2 accompanying adults. We will not accept the booking if only 1 adult attends with the group.
We ask classes to break up into smaller supervised groups whilst on site.
For the enjoyment of all our visitors we now have a maximum group size of 150 students per booking . If you wish to bring more students, please come across multiple dates. If this is not possible, please contact us to discuss further.
There is no minimum group number required for a school visit.
All sessions have a strict maximum capacity, please refer to the individual session pages for more information about what these are. We are unable to be exceed our session capacities.
Whilst exploring the site, we ask classes to break up into smaller supervised groups.
Book your school visit
All bookings at the reduced education rate must be made in advance, we recommend booking at least two months in advance as dates do sell out quickly. Payment is due six weeks before visiting.

After receiving your booking request, if we have availability, we will email you a booking confirmation and invoice which must be paid in advance of your visit and according to our payment terms.
- Your invoice will be attached to your confirmation email. Payment details can be found on your invoice.
- Our preferred method of payment is by BACS. When making payment please ensure you quote your account number and your school/company name. If possible, send us remittance advice.
- Payment is due six weeks prior to visiting.
- Bookings with less than six weeks' notice require immediate payment. The cancellation and amendment deadline is 17:00 on the day after the booking is confirmed.
- We regret that no refunds can be given for school visit cancellations or amendments made less than six weeks in advance of your visit. This includes non-arrivals on the day.
