Developed with EFL teaching guidelines and taught in English, this tour is led by a costumed presenter who will engage your students with some of the very best of the many gripping stories which have made the Tower of London such an important site in British history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Students will follow in the footsteps of English kings, queens and prisoners as they explore the stories of the Tower in the places where history happened.
This tour includes time spent outside. Please ask your students to dress appropriately for the weather.
Learning objectives
Students will:
- Increase their understanding of the role played by the Tower of London in public life over the last thousand years.
- Learn new vocabulary to describe some of the Tower’s physical characteristics and the experiences of those kept here over the centuries.
- Explore some of the connections between the Tower of London and students’ own country of origin.
