Coaches and minibuses

Drop-off and collection points for minibuses and coaches are located in the free car park, accessible off the A1.

Group parking for minibuses and coaches can be arranged in the Forecourt, adjacent to the Stable Yard and the Castle, subject to availability on the day of your visit. To arrange this, please email hillsboroughcastle@hrp.org.uk.

Arrival time at the castle

Your self-guided tour will start from the State Entrance of the castle. If you are arriving via the car park, you should aim to arrive on site up to 45 minutes prior to your tour to allow sufficient time to park and make your way to the castle. A people mover vehicle is available to assist those with accessibility needs.

If you have printed your tickets at home in advance, please make your way from the Lower Visitor Centre to the castle State Entrance before your tour is due to begin.

Rucksacks, large bags and buggies

Rucksacks, large bags and buggies are not allowed inside the castle. Buggies can be left in the buggy store, whilst rucksacks and other large bags can be left in the locker room, buggy store or secure bag drop facility at the State Entrance.

Lockers and a buggy park are available in the Stable Yard. Lockers are available on a first come first served basis and are operated via a £1.00 coin deposit.
