Whether it’s an elegant drinks reception or an extra-special birthday dinner, Hillsborough Castle can accommodate special occasions of all sorts.

Take your pick of the house’s exquisite State Rooms, or hold your event outside in the sumptuous gardens.

The Throne Room in Hillsborough Castle is setup and dressed for a formal corporate dinner. The room features silk damask covered walls, large Georgian windows and gold detailing on the ceiling and architraves. Two red velvet and gold Thrones sit at the far end of the space in the centre, behind which a banner hangs with the initials 'ER', framed by a lion and unicorn. Three large chandeliers hang on the ceiling above. The walls are adorned with gold-framed oil paintings of landscapes and religious figures. The round tables are clothed in luxurious royal navy blue cloths with matching velvet runners. A rich display of red roses and green foliage sits centrally on each table, accompanied by 3-4 gold candlesticks with ivory candlesticks. The glassware is tinted with gold and the table is set with gold cutlery and table menus.

Weddings

With its lush grounds, stunning interiors and impressive Georgian façade, Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is the perfect setting for a fairy tale wedding.

Licensed marquee sites are available from morning until midnight, set amongst the castle stunning formal gardens. Alternatively, the castle's majestic state rooms make for an unforgettable backdrop for ceremonies, drinks receptions and dinners.
