Riverside Weddings at Hampton Court Palace

A tranquil setting on the River Thames

The riverside setting at Hampton Court Palace offers a peaceful and picturesque location for your wedding, set beside one of the most scenic stretches of the River Thames. Here, the river flows calmly past the palace gardens, far removed from the bustle of central London. The gentle movement of the water and the historic landscape surrounding it create a setting that feels both timeless and refreshingly serene.

A seamless flow between indoors and out

The riverside areas can be paired with nearby indoor spaces such as the Little Banqueting House, the Garden Room, or the Orangery. Couples often choose to hold an outdoor ceremony or drinks reception by the river, followed by dinner and dancing in one of these elegant indoor venues. This combination allows guests to enjoy the open air and beautiful views before continuing the celebration within the grandeur of the palace.

Tailored to your vision

Our approved suppliers can help bring your riverside wedding to life with décor, floristry, lighting and bespoke menu design. From elegant marquees to seasonal floral arrangements inspired by the palace gardens, every detail can be shaped to suit your vision. Whether you imagine a relaxed summer celebration by the water or an elegant evening reception overlooking the Thames, the setting lends itself beautifully to personalisation and creative expression.

A setting rich in history

The River Thames has been the palace’s lifeline for over 500 years, serving as both a transport route and a source of inspiration for monarchs and courtiers. Today, it continues to provide a remarkable backdrop for weddings that combine natural beauty with royal heritage, offering a celebration in the very heart of England’s history.
