Royal-Themed Weddings

Few places capture the spirit of a royal celebration quite like Hampton Court Palace. Once home to Henry VIII and the Tudor court, the palace provides an authentic setting for couples seeking a truly royal-themed wedding. Grand halls, elegant chambers and historic gardens create a backdrop rich in pageantry and tradition.

Ceremonies and receptions can be held in spaces such as the Great Hall, the Little Banqueting House or the Garden Room, each reflecting the splendour of the palace. Whether you add regal touches or simply let the surroundings speak for themselves, Hampton Court Palace provides a wedding experience worthy of royalty.

Royal-Themed Weddings at Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace and The Garden Room were absolutely stunning. The Palace’s Tudor grandeur and fine artworks provided a beautiful backdrop for our wedding photos. The Palace gardens were equally beautiful, with plenty of lush greenery and ornamental gardens that made for a magical treat. We’re very happy with our choice of venue and couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day. Thank you to the amazing team!

The Great Hall

The Great Hall of Hampton Court Palace is one of the most jaw-dropping venues in the country. Originally designed as a feasting chamber for Henry VIII, it was the last medieval great hall to be constructed for the English monarchy.

This venue is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 200 guests and can accommodate dinners for 220 guests. A popular option is to have a civil ceremony and drinks reception in one of the palace’s other spaces followed by dinner in this special venue.

Riverside Weddings

Set beside one of the most scenic stretches of the River Thames, the riverside setting at Hampton Court Palace offers a peaceful and memorable backdrop for your day. Overlooking the river and grounds, this area is perfectly suited to outdoor ceremonies, drinks receptions or photographs surrounded by the palace’s historic gardens.

Available for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, the riverside location can be paired with nearby indoor spaces such as the Little Banqueting House or the Garden Room. Guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the water and the grandeur of the palace, creating a setting that feels both relaxed and unmistakably regal.

Garden Venues for Weddings

The historic gardens of Hampton Court Palace provide a magnificent setting for weddings throughout the seasons. From the formal symmetry of the Privy Garden to the sweeping lawns of the Great Fountain Garden, each space offers its own character and charm. Couples can exchange vows surrounded by ornamental planting, historic yew trees and the soft scent of seasonal blooms.

Perfect for outdoor ceremonies, drinks receptions or photographs, the gardens can also be paired with nearby indoor spaces such as the Little Banqueting House, the Garden Room or the Orangery. Together, they offer a seamless flow from open-air celebration to elegant dining, allowing guests to experience the palace’s grandeur both inside and out.

The Orangery and Privy Garden

This long, graceful room was originally designed as a private greenhouse for King William III. Today, the Orangery makes a timelessly elegant venue for drinks receptions. You’ll also have exclusive use of the glorious Privy Gardens, where you and your guests can enjoy drinks and photographs before heading inside for dinner, dancing and merrymaking until the small hours.

Undercroft

This quirky atmospheric space was originally the site of Henry VIII's beer cellar - once the keeper of ales, now it is the room for drinking the ale! The ideal space for any after-party and for dancing the night away.
