Bridgerton is the Netflix show set in the Regency era, following eight close-knit siblings looking for love and happiness in London high society.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a spin-off series released in 2023, was also filmed at Hampton Court Palace.

The Great Fountain Garden

The Great Fountain Garden was created by William III and Mary II to complement their newly constructed baroque palace.

After Queen Victoria opened the palace to the public in 1838, the Great Fountain Garden became a popular attraction, with many visitors eager to view the beautiful flowers on display.

Fountain Court

Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, Fountain Court was constructed during the reign of William III and Mary II as part of the Baroque remodelling of the palace which began in 1689. With its pristine lawn and elegant central fountain, today the courtyard forms the heart of the Wren palace, and offers view up to the King’s and Queen’s State Apartments.

Fountain Court appears in a number of scenes featuring the character of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), including this which sees Queen Charlotte taking tea under an elaborate awning, surrounded by her ladies-in-waiting.

Privy Garden

The Privy Garden serves as the exterior of Queen Charlotte’s palace, and features in a number of key scenes, including as the backdrop to Viscount Anthony Bridgerton’s lavish wedding to the season’s Diamond, hosted by Queen Charlotte herself. In this image we see Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) in the lavishly dressed garden.

A privy, or private, garden has existed on the south side of Hampton Court Palace since the reign of Henry VIII. Today the Privy Garden is a restoration of William III’s baroque Privy Garden of 1702, complete with gravel pathways, tightly clipped topiary, recreations of the original statues and nearly two acres of special historic variety turf.

Master Carpenter's Court

For the show, Master Carpenter’s Court was transformed into London’s Chancery Lane, with entire shopfronts created to bring the city’s narrow streets to life. As the exterior of the Chancery Lane Printers – where Lady Whistledown’s legendary pamphlets are produced - both Penelope Featherington and Eloise Bridgerton pay a visit!

Dating back to the 16th century, this is where all the raw foodstuffs required to feed the monarch and their courtiers were brought into the palace, serving as a tradesman’s entrance to the Great Kitchens. It was here that the goods were unloaded and scrupulously checked, before kitchen staff carried the goods into the kitchens or the stores.
