Facilities for families

Baby changing facilities are available in the following toilets: Base Court, Fountain Court, Magic Garden.

If you are visiting with very young children, you may take pushchairs and buggies around the gardens. There is a Buggy Park off Clock Court if you do not wish to take the buggy around with you.

Breastfeeding is welcome throughout our palace. Team members are always on hand should you need any further information and we will happily assist should you wish to breastfeed off the main visitor route.

Wilderness, Base Court, Fountain Court, The Kitchen Garden. All toilets have disabled access.

On the day

Buggies and pushchairs are permitted in the palace and gardens, but a buggy park is located in Clock Court if you prefer to leave it during your visit. Cycling, scooters, balls, frisbees and rollerblades are not permitted in any part of the pay boundary.

During summer a change of clothes, towel, sun cream, hats, sand play toys and water shoes for splash play. We request adults do not wear swimwear. In winter, warm clothes and layers and a coat or rain jacket. With a range of surfaces including AstroTurf, children should wear clothing to prevent grazes.

The quietest time to visit the palace is before 11:00. However, exploring the palace and gardens may take up to two or three hours, so we recommend visiting as early as possible for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

In 2025 and 2026, some major projects will mean that certain rooms and routes will have reduced access or be closed as we fulfil this essential work.
