Following a period of extended closure for vital conservation work, we’re pleased to be reopening the doors of the Banqueting House, starting with a first look for members before we open with a new visitor experience next summer.
Marvel at the Rubens' ceiling from below and discover this revolutionary building on this exclusive members-only day. Experts will be on hand to answer your questions and share fascinating facts about the Banqueting House's colourful and turbulent history.
What happened to Henry VIII’s great Whitehall Palace? What did the early Stuart kings do here, at the last remaining part of the palace - the Banqueting House? While it was intended for play and masques, this building is more famous as the place of execution of King Charles I.
