Experience a British Sign Language Tour
Explore over 500 years of history during a signed guided tour of the Banqueting House. These special tours will be led by John Wilson, a highly acclaimed deaf tour guide who specialises in tours for galleries, historic sites and museums.
John will be joined by Heritage Interpreters who will interpret his British Sign Language (BSL) into spoken English. This tour will focus on the magnificent Rubens ceiling, the Banqueting Hall and The Undercroft.
Important information
Tickets to our Deaf led tours will be £7.50 for Banqueting House.
Tickets will cover your entry to the Palace and the Deaf Led Tour.
Banqueting House operates primarily as an events space and does not regularly open to the public. Your tour group will be the only visitors in the palace at the time. After the tour ends, Banqueting House will close.
This tour is predominantly aimed at Deaf and Hard of Hearing visitors and their families. Though children are welcome, the content of this tour is largely aimed at adults.
Access information
This tour will be delivered in British Sign Language and interpreted into spoken English.
There is lift access to the Main Hall and a ramp down to the Undercroft is available for wheelchair users. An accessible toilet with baby changing facilities is available in the Undercroft on the Ground Floor. Please ask a member of staff to direct you for step free access. The toilet is accessed down a short ramp with a handrail.
A member of the Communities team will be available throughout the tour to direct you to the facilities.
