Spaces for every celebration

The Main Hall

An awe-inspiring party setting, framed by towering columns, sweeping scale and historic
character. Perfect for gala dinners, candlelit banquets, annual celebrations with colleagues
or large-scale parties.

Capacities: up to 280 cabaret style.

Undercroft

Once a royal retreat, now an atmospheric space for drinks receptions, DJs, or after-dinner
dancing. A unique contrast to the grandeur above.

Capacity: up to 350 standing (drinks receptions).

What a party looks like here

Guests arrive to a candle-lit welcome in the Undercroft, then ascend to the grand Main Hall
for dining, speeches and live music. After dinner, return downstairs for a club-style afterparty- keeping the celebration flowing.

An example evening programme:

Guest Arrivals: Welcome drinks in the Undercroft, with live music or a sparkling
reception to set the tone.
Dinner: Guests move upstairs to the Main Hall for a candlelit banquet beneath the
Rubens ceiling.
Entertainment: Speeches, live performances, or after-dinner entertainment to suit
the occasion.
Dancing: Return downstairs for the after party, with a band or DJ keeping the
atmosphere lively late into the evening.
Late-Night Moments: Midnight snacks or cocktails in the Undercroft before
carriages.

Christmas Parties at Banqueting House

Banqueting House has witnessed more than 390 Christmases since it first opened its doors in 1622. Today, it continues that legacy as one of the capital’s most memorable Christmas
party venues. Just steps from Whitehall and the Thames, it offers a grand yet convenient
setting where colleagues and clients can come together to celebrate the season. Beneath the iconic Rubens’ ceiling, guests can enjoy festive Christmas menus from London's topcaterers, while production partners bring the magic of Christmas to life with sparkling décor,lighting, and entertainment. With its rich history, central location, and unrivalled atmosphere,Banqueting House is a truly iconic setting for a Christmas party in London.

Availability and pricing

Banqueting House has reopened for party hire following an extensive programme of conservation works to preserve the historic interior. Bookings are being welcomed for Christmas and private parties, with daytime hire from £16,000 +VAT and all-day and evening hire from £26,000 + VAT. For those who wish to continue the celebrations, time extensions can be arranged until 01:00.
