Equality and influence

Online school sessions

about this session

Key stage 3 | Subject: History, English, Citizenship | Topics: Women’s Suffrage, Equality | Session Type: Online session

This workshop explores the life of Indian Princess and suffragette Sophia Duleep Singh. Follow her journey to become a campaigner of women's right to vote and an advocate for other marginalised or underrepresented groups.

What challenges did she face as an Indian Princess, daughter of a deposed Maharaja, in Victorian England? What gave her drive and led her campaigning? How did she use her influence to fight for equality? What inequalities do we see today and how can we use our voices today to continue the fight for equality?

This session features pre-recorded videos and is led by a skilled facilitator who can respond to your class. You will receive support to set up the technology needed ensuring a smooth and engaging session.
